Asian Lettuce Wraps

For the garnish:
1 Mirabel Butter Lettuce
1 bell peppers
2-3 carrots
1 small white onion
1 pound of ground turkey or tofu
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
Salt & Pepper

For the sauce:
1 cup of soya sauce
3/4 cup of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
1 tablespoon of fresh grated ginger
1 tablespoon of sesame oil
1 tablespoon of cornstarch
Salt & pepper

Optional: pineapple, green onions & sesame seeds


For the garnish:
1. Cut the peppers and the carrots into small cubes.
2. In a pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil and cook the onion and garlic. Add the meat and cook 6-8 minutes (until the meat is no longer pink). Salt & pepper.
3. Add the vegetables and cook for 5 minutes.
4. Add the sauce and cook 1-2 minutes.
5. Service in the lettuce leaves.

For the sauce:
1. Pour the soya sauce, brown sugar, garlic, rice vinegar, ginger, sesame oil, a pinch of salt & pepper in a small saucepan and bring to boil.

2. In a small bowl, dilute the cornstarch in a tablespoon of water, then pour into the boiling sauce. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook until the sauce thickens (3 to 5 minutes).
